Route 59's Necrobarista isn't the only café-based visual novel game on the horizon. If you haven't heard of it yet, Toge Productions' simply-named Coffee Talk is set in an alternate reality Seattle in the year 2020, where humans, elves, and other mythical half-humans intermingle. Your job is a blend of barista and bartender, as you talk to the shop patrons, listen to their problems, and try to find just the right drink to satisfy them.

A demo has been available since earlier in the spring, when the game was expected in late 2019. Recently, the developers released a new trailer alongside a new release window of January 2020.

More than that, there is a new version of the Coffee Talk demo available now, with the following new features:

One thing not mentioned in the release notes are tweaks to dialogue. There were a handful of grammatical errors in the original demo, and some players have reported those are cleaned up in this version. The demo is now available for Windows and macOS on several storefronts: Steam, itch.io, and GameJolt.

While the demo is only available on PC platforms, Coffee Talk is scheduled to launch on Windows, macOS, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in January 2020.
