Atlus has released some more information on the highly anticipated Persona 5 Royal, the upcoming re-release of Persona 5, during a recent livestream. To start, the company released the second official trailer for the game: watch it down below!

In Persona 5 Royal, Akechi's Confidant route will be leveled up by the player's own accord, rather than automatically over the course of the story. The player will be able to receive new abilities through Akechi's Confidant route, including the ability to scout enemy weaknesses when a battle begins. Atlus also released a new "Morgana Report" that unveils Jose, a brand-new character who resided in Mementos and is collecting "flowers" in order to study humans. Mementos in general has received a lot of new additions: players can bring Jose collectible stamps to "change the perception of Mementos itself" and earn bonuses like more money or experience. Players can also trade the "Ishi" found in palaces for rare accessories, or the flowers found in Mementos for items. Players will also encounter a new mission type where they will have to utilize information gathered in the city and from the Phansite in order to negotiate with a target.

Akechi's character trailer and Morgana Report #4 can be viewed below.

As confirmed prior to this livestream, DLC purchased for Persona 5 must be repurchased for 10 yen in order to be used in Persona 5 Royal. Persona 5 Royal will feature a new Palace, which will be explored during the all-new third semester scenario. Other details mentioned in the livestream is that the "f" on the Orpheus & Orpheus Picaro (f) Set included with the Digital Deluxe version of the game stands for "female," and the Share function on the PS4 will be freely usable up until the player reaches December. Lastly, Ryuji's instant-kill ability has been modified slightly so that it can only be triggered when foes are approached with a dash: however, money and experience can now be gained from using the ability.

Check out some brand-new gameplay from Persona 5 Royal down below (from roughly around the 46-minute mark)! The game will hit Japanese PS4s on October 31st in Japan, and is set to arrive in the West sometime next year. Stay tuned to RPGFan for more info on Persona 5 Royal.
