Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma has plenty to say about Link's Awakening, the Zelda title which first got him interested in the series, and offers up some interesting insights into the upcoming remake in a new piece from Nintendo UK.

One of the new features introduced during Nintendo's E3 presentation, Chamber Dungeons, a feature which Aonuma has wanted to bring to a Zelda title for quite some time, will be sure to please fans hoping to flex their dungeon building skills. This new addition will bring back Dampé, with whom fans of Ocarina of Time and other Zelda entries are sure to be familiar, and will allow players to create dungeons from parts they have collected. As players clear dungeons in the main quest, they will unlock chambers which can be arranged to the players liking, offering a simplified dungeon-making experience.

Additionally, Mr. Aonuma mentioned that his inspiration for the new, diorama-style visuals came from the small but deep world of the Game Boy original, which featured a top-down view. The tilt-shift visuals which can be seen in Link's Awakening on Nintendo Switch give players the impression the feeling of looking into a miniature diorama, which is what the developers at Grezzo and Aonuma himself had hoped to recreate.

Link's Awakening will release for Nintendo Switch both in stores and on the eShop on September 20th, and you certainly won't want to sleep on this beautiful reimagining.
