We have quite the Monstrum update for Ys IX! The latest issue of Dengeki PlayStation and the game's official website revealed a myriad of new details, most notably in regards to three new characters. Each character is a Monstrum, a person with supernatural abilities that may come in handy in and out of battles.

Ys IX: Monstrum Nox | Raging Bull

First up, we have Raging Bull, a Monstrum who is as powerful as she is cheerful. She lugs around a huge war hammer, which she uses to break enemies' guards and destroy walls outside of battles. She has a strong sense of justice, though there are rumors that she might have some relatives inside of Baldeux, the Prison City.

Ys IX: Monstrum Nox | Renegade

The next Monstrum we have is Renegade. Named after his strange outfit, Renegade is a quiet and pessimistic man who is rarely seen in public. He wields a staff that shoots projectiles. In terms of his Monstrum ability, he can melt into shadows to go through hard to reach areas or in order to avoid enemy detection.

Ys IX: Monstrum Nox | Dol

Last but not least, we have Dol. Created by a craftsman, little is known about her. Her movement is unnatural, leaving it uncertain whether she is a Monstrum or a doll. Her Third Eye ability allows her to see hidden items, such as treasure chests and hidden paths. She wants to meet Adol for some reason.

You can check out the Monstrum abilities of Raging Bull, Renegade, and Dol in the videos below:
