After leaving Square Enix and starting JP Games, Hajime Tabata announced the first game of his fledgling company. Working with the International Paralympic Committee for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, The Pegasus Dream Tour is a sports-themed RPG.

The Pegasus World Tour

The game is set in a fantasy city known as Pegasus City. Each player has their own unique "Xtra Power" and uses it to compete in the game's version of the Paralympics. The game is aimed at getting a younger audience interested in the Paralympic Games.

Hajime Tabata had this to say about The Pegasus Dream Tour:

Right now, I'm developing the official game for the International Paralympic Committee. It's called "The Pegasus Dream Tour." I wish to thank everyone involved, who helped me up to this point and make this announcement today. You'll be able to enjoy the game when the timing's right in 2020. So stay tuned.

Furthermore, Andrew Parsons, International Paralympic Committee President, had this to say about the collaboration:

Ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, we are eager to explore innovative ways to engage with new and younger global audiences. We believe this game will help boost interest in the Paralympic Games and make it easier for people all over the world to enjoy and experience the heated atmosphere, passion and excitement of the event.

The sport at the Paralympics is outstanding and helps transform attitudes towards persons with disabilities like no other event. I am really excited to see and play this game and see how the outstanding abilities of Para athletes are represented.

The Pegasus World Tour releases worldwide in 2020. Beyond smartphones, the game is yet to be confirmed on any other particular platform, but JP Games does want it to be as accessible as possible.

It is heart-warming to see Hajime Tabata to spring back on his feet so soon after leaving Square Enix, especially for such a good cause! Stay tuned to RPGFan as we learn more about The Pegasus World Tour and the future of JP Games!
