04.10.19 - 10:25 PM

A new contest featured in the upcoming May 2019 issue of CoroCoro will give one lucky fan a chance to name a brand new move in Pokémon Sword and Shield.

The male Trainer from Pokemon Sword and Shield throws out a Poke Ball.

The details for the new move are as follows:

Type: Steel
Category: Special
Damage: 140
Effect: Does major damage but reduces user’s Hit Points by 50%

The female Trainer from Pokemon Sword and Shield locks eyes with another Trainer!

The move name must be under eight characters and must use hiragana, katakana, or the alphabet. One winner will have their move name featured in the game and will win copies of both titles, while 20 runner-ups will receive copies of either Pokémon Sword or Shield.

Pokémon Sword and Shield will release later this year, exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
