Gearbox Software Announces Borderlands 3 at Pax East 2019
Over one billion guns!
03.28.19 - 8:24 PM

Loot-shooter fans rejoice, as Gearbox Studios has confirmed the existence of Borderlands 3 during their panel at PAX East 2019 by way of a stylish trailer sporting the franchise's cel-shaded aesthetic and zaniness in spades. Check it out below!

Judging by the trailer, Borderlands 3 seeks to give more of what players have come to expect from the franchise thus far: lots of guns, zany enemies, allies old and new, and stylistic environments as well as adding a few noted improvements. New planets and areas are in the mix, it seems, with the trailer showcasing new environments apart from Pandora, the seminal wasteland that previous iterations were set on.

Gearbox also announced that a remastered edition of Borderlands, the first game in the series, would be coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on April 3rd.

Graphical updates to the Windows versions of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and Borderlands 2 and the Handsome Jack collection on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will also arrive on April 3rd. Both editions will have the same 4K enhancements applied to textures, sky-boxes and environments on their respective platforms, the console editions taking advantage of the hardware of the PlayStation 4 Pro and the Xbox One X as well as the Higher Resolution Dynamic (HDR) function in most modern televisions.

Honestly, it looks like a lotta Borderlands love all-round, and as someone who sunk hundreds of hours in LAN parties with friends on Borderlands 2 back in the day, I'm excited to see what the future of the franchise brings to the table.

Further details are heading our way on April 3rd. No release date or platforms were announced.
