Following an undeniably rough launch for Fallout 76, developer Bethesda is working to bring plenty of new content to players over the coming year hoping to bolster its online-focused offering. These additions will come in the form of three core updates, Wild Appalachia, Nuclear Winter, and Wastelanders. You can see an overview of the upcoming content in the roadmap below and read on for a rundown on what to expect moving forward.

The update roadmap for Fallout 76 featuring updates coming to the title over the next year.

The first core update, Wild Appalachia, is scheduled to arrive on March 12th, introducing a new feature, allowing players to discover the secrets of Nukashine by brewing and distilling. One week later, on March 19th, the Fasnacht Parade event will begin, offering unique Fasnacht Mask rewards for players who complete the limited-time event. Rounding out the end of the month, the arrival of the brand new Survival Mode on March 26th promises to deliver a new PvP experience full of new challenges, increased rewards, and fewer restrictions.

More updates will follow in April and May, bringing player-built vending machines to camps on April 9th and cameras for capturing your favorite adventure moments on April 16th. Players will also be able to experience new cryptid-oriented quests and encounters when Shear Terror arrives on April 9th. On May 7th, the Ever Upwards update will add new quests, a customizable backpack, and more! Finally, on May 23rd, a new legendary vendor will become available, offering to trade legendary gear for any unwanted legendary items.

The second and third core updates, Nuclear Winter and Wastelanders, are vaguely detailed, likely because they are still in the early planning and development stages but will be arriving in summer and fall respectively, offering new game modes, an all-new main quest, new events, features, and more.

In their latest blog post detailing the updates, Bethesda notes that they shared the same frustrations as their fans with mistakes following the game's launch. Moreover, they acknowledge that there will likely be mistakes moving forward, though they hope to move more quickly to rectify issues in the future. Hopefully, these new updates will be a step in the right direction or, at the very least, will serve to make amends to fans of the series who were deeply disappointed with this entry.

Fallout 76 is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
