Bandai Namco has revealed some exciting new information and screenshots for their upcoming game Code Vein, showing off a new partner character, one of the first "fields" for the game, and a terrifying new boss. Without further ado, let's check out this new info!

Yakumo and Emily Su

Code Vein Yakumo

A former mercenary, Yakumo is a tough fighter who always keeps a cool and level head, even in the midst of battle. In battle, Yakumo is a reliable ally who rushes into the thick of battle, taking many blows intended for the player, making him a very powerful tank. Before the collapse of the world, Yakumo was sold off along with his fellow mercenaries to Mido, who cruelly experimented on the group. Even now, these memories still linger in Yakumo's heart, causing him to have a deep hatred for Mido.

Code Vein Emily Su

Another subject of Mido's cruel experiments, Emily Su was captured around the same time Yamuko was. A member of a private military facility, she overcame the suffering of her torture thank to Yamuko, and the two would come to regard each other as family. After the Great Collapse, the Emily Su and Yamuko were separated, causing Yamuko to go out and search for her.

City of Falling Flames

Code Vein City of Falling Flame

One of the first Field areas shown off for Code Vein, the City of Falling Flames was consumed unexpectedly and swiftly by a fire that never goes out. Covered almost entirely by fire, players will have to traverse through destroyed buildings and roads, avoiding the fiery pits which will cause damage to absent minded players. "Thorns of Judgement" tower throughout the city with a mind of their own, intent on destroying any resemblance to the "Pre-Collapse" world.

Code Vein Blazing Radical

Players who travel through the City of Falling Flames must always be on the lookout for the "Blazing Radical," a dangerous creature bearing a resemblance to knights of old. Known to wield a large assortment of weapons, the Blazing Radical promises to be a new and dangerous challenge each time it's encountered.

Successor of the Claw

Code Vein Successor of the Claw

A dangerous boss level monster, the Successor inherited Q.U.E.E.N.'s claw, and boy, does it know how to use it. This masked menace is a quick and agile beast, vaulting around the battle arena before slashing with it's deadly claws. Players who intend to take on this beast must be constantly alert, lest they succumb to the fate of many others.

Ridge of Frozen Souls

Code Vein Ridge of Frozen Souls

Unsurprisingly, the Ridge of Frozen Souls is a frozen wasteland, where violent snow storms continuously blow. Once a beautiful grassy plain, the Collapse completely twisted the lands climate, ensuring that nothing would ever grow there again. Players who intend to traverse this wasteland must make sure to bundle up!

The Ridge of Frozen Souls also features a formidable foe, called the "Successor of the Ridge of Frozen Souls." Not much is known about this creature, only that players who intend to take it on must never let their guard down.

Great Hammers

Code Vein Huge Hammer

To finish off our slew of new info, let's take a look at one of the weapon categories in the game, the Great Hammer! While each weapon in a category may play similar, each weapon has different functions, giving players a large choice when it comes to which weapons to bring into battle. Pictured above is the "Huge Hammer," a simple to use weapon, but hard to master. With wide horizontal attacks and a charging bash move, the Huge Hammer promises to be a destructive force.

Code Vein Impulse Anchor

Another weapon in the Great Hammer family, the Impulse Anchor is an explosive force to be reckoned with. After a strong smash attack, the head of the hammer will release a powerful explosion, engulfing any nearby enemies. Personally, I feel like this weapon will be a real blast to play with... Get it?... Anyone?

Code Vein is set to release in 2018 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Stay tuned to RPGFan for more news and info on Code Vein.
