Recently, Dengeki PlayStation revealed Sega's plans to release remastered versions of Yakuza 3, 4, and 5 on the PlayStation 4, finally making it possible to play through all seven mainline entries in the series on one system. Though these remasters will feature upgraded visuals, including 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second, these ports will not be receiving the fully overhauled treatment seen in the Kiwami releases.

The Japanese release schedule for these remastered titles is as follows:

  • Yakuza 3 - August 9th, 2018 (with soundtrack download code)

  • Yakuza 4 - Fall 2018

  • Yakuza 5 - Spring 2019
  • Goda Ryuji from Yakuza Kiwami 2 for PlayStation 4

No plans for a Western release have been announced, but fans outside of Japan will still have plenty of knuckle-busting action to look forward to this year when Yakuza Kiwami 2 releases in regions around the world on August 28th exclusively for PlayStation 4.
