If like us, you've been patiently awaiting news regarding Square Enix's upcoming Octopath Traveler for Nintendo Switch, you're in luck. During today's Nintendo Direct presentation the game received an official title update, new classes and combat details, and an official release date.

Joining the six already established characters, players can look forward to experiencing the stories of newly announced protagonists Tressa, the merchant, and Alfyn, the apothecary. As a merchant, Tressa can purchase items from any residents around the realm, including items not typically available for sale. Alfyn's special ability is "inquire" which will allow him to uncover more information than other characters through dialogue.

Each of the eight characters in the game will begin with a base job, which can be combined with other job classes to create some serious new combat strategies! You can check out the new announcements in the latest trailer below.

Octopath Traveler will release on July 13th both in stores and on the Nintendo eShop, but fans already jumping with excitement will likely want to hold out for the newly revealed collector's edition! This edition will come complete with a pop-up book, world map, a sound selection CD, and a replica coin based on the in-game currency.

Just look at it!
