You may have recently read our news about Pillars of Eternity II and its pre-order goodies and DLC, but were left with the most burning of questions: "Mike," you would ask me, "I like free stuff as much as the next gamer – perhaps more – but what about the game itself? As I recall, in 2015, Stephen Meyerink called Pillars of Eternity 'the best RPG Obsidian has ever made' in his review. With the sequel coming in April, I must ask: Does the soul still burn?"
Putting aside forced SoulCalibur references, I would direct you to Bob Richardson's hands-on preview based on his recent time spent playing an early version of Pillars II. Bob also felt that the first game was one of the best RPGs he's played, so he covers this from a place of experience.
Look for Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire on PC on April 3rd.
