Nintendo recently broadcasted a new Direct entirely focused on the highly anticipated Xenoblade Chronicles 2, due out on December 1st as a Nintendo Switch exclusive. Xenoblade Chronicles 2, as previously reported, follows Rex, a Driver who forms a special bond with a Blade known as Pyra. Blades are artificial lifeforms who lend special powers to their Drivers, and players will be able to collect numerous Blades over the course of the journey, including special Rare Blades.

As with previous Xenoblade titles, Rex and his party can encounter various wildlife in the world, including Unique Beasts that drop special loot and are particularly dangerous. Defeating a Unique Beast will leave a tombstone in its wake, which players can use to challenge the monster again. Players can also find Collection Points around the world, where they can dive beneath the Sea of Clouds and uncover treasure.

As a special tie-in to familarize players with Rex, a costume based on his design will be available for download in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild around Xenoblade Chronicles 2's launch. Japanese voiceover DLC will also be available at launch.

Beginning today, players can pre-purchase a Season Pass for the game, which costs $29.99 USD. Players will then be able to enjoy DLC for the game as it becomes available: new quests, helpful items, a challenging Battle Mode, and eventually new story content.
