Square Enix has released some details about Final Fantasy XV's forthcoming multiplayer expansion, Comrades. The multiplayer mode will be getting a closed beta (accessible to those who purchased Final Fantasy XV's Season Pass and have a PlayStation Plus/Xbox Live subscription) taking place from August 2nd to August 8th. During the beta, players will be able to create up to eight custom avatars, meet up at an initial test version base camp, and work cooperatively to collect "Royal Sigils" and "Meteorshards." Beta players can choose to wield katanas, clubs, daggers, and shurikens.

According to the game's official website, more content will be added to Comrades over time, including playable characters from throughout the main game (including Noctis, Ignis, Gladiolus, and Prompto), an expansive arsenal of weapons, and a city area to explore. There will be quests with storylines attached to them, as well as single-player quests to undertake.
