Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization looks to continue the trend of combining a fast-paced action role-playing game with a dating simulation, as protagonist Kirito is once again able to engage in romantic relations with the various ladies who join his party. A new trailer for the game showcases various combat scenarios and shows Kirito holding hands with Asuna, along with other activities intended to boost relationships with party members. In addition, our gallery has a number of new screenshots and pieces of artwork for the game, including images of new characters Kizmel (a Dark Elf swordswoman) and Richter, a "mysterious player."

In Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization, players will be able to undergo special quests known as "Event Fragments." These events are triggered when certain conditions are met, and then the player will be able to see their location on the map. Clearing these Event Fragments unlocks what are known as "Episode Quests," meatier side objectives that lead to various rewards. Additionally, powerful enemies known as "Evil Gods" may spawn while in the field, and defeating them may require the assistance of other players online, as defeating them normally is a tall order.

There's also some DLC on the way for Hollow Realization, in the form of the paid "Shrine Maiden of the Abyss," which will encompass three episodes and tell a new story, and a free update tentatively known as "Fighters of the Blue Sky" which adds characters Seven and Rain from Sword Art Online: Lost Song along with PvP and at least 20 more hours of additional content.
