DMM.com, together with members of the team behind the Seiken Densetsu series, are releasing a game that will give fans of PS1 classic Legend of Mana a nostalgia trip. The game, called Egglia: The Legend of the Red Cap, is being headed by Kameoka Shinichi and Kouji Tsuda, whose distinct art style can be seen throughout.

The game's plot follows the story of Chabo, a boy who fell from the sky and into the hands of the vicious Red Cap tribe, and Robin, an elf girl who wishes to revive Egglia and figure out Chabo's origins.

Those of you who've played Legend of Mana will remember placing orbs down on a grid map to create new areas to explore. In this game, the world creation tools are eggs. These eggs function in a very similar manner: place them on a grid, and you can explore a new area! All exploration takes place on a hexagonal grid. Movement is dice based, as is combat; if you land adjacent to a monster, you roll the die to see if you attack and for how much damage. Should you land near an object like rocks or a tree, you can interact with them to gain items. Items collected while exploring can be used to craft new objects in your hub, named "My Town."

All in all, an interesting game! Do you plan on downloading it should it come to your area? Sound off in the forums!
