Is this all a guerilla marketing ploy for the artbook?

A recent Final Fantasy XV promotional event featured artwork and other goodies for the upcoming uber-RPG. The art largely focuses on the antagonists from the Niflheim Empire such as Aranea Highwind, Ardyn, and the magitech soldiers as well as the recently released Kingsglaive film. Figurines of the four main characters and some monsters are also included. You can find a sampling of some of the pictures below.

Further, the attendees of the Dengeki PlayStation event were not the only ones excited to see this artwork. The character designer behind Aranea and Ardyn, Roberto Ferrari, took to Facebook to lament the removal of many of his character designs in the transition between Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy XV. Several characters such as the heroine named Stella, were cut when the game changed from an offshoot to a mainline Final Fantasy. Mr. Ferrari said that several character designs that were even better than Aranea and Ardyn never made it into the game and would likely never be made public.

Whether or not this is the case, Final Fantasy XV will be out worldwide on November 29 for PS4, and XB1. Only time will tell if the rest Mr. Ferrari's work will see the light of day.
