RPGFan Sunday Streaming: Grim Fandango Remastered
One of the all-time greats is back for a second round.
05.14.16 - 12:30 PM

We're currently discussing 30 essential games of 2010-2015, but if it were a list of the essential games of the late 90s, Grim Fandango would definitely have made the cut. It was originally released in 1998 — a point & click adventure game from a great era at LucasArts.

In Grim Fandango, you are Manuel Calavera, a worker for the Department of the Dead. Manny helps people reach their final destination after death, and while he'd love to make that trip himself, he can't until he works off his debts.

As you might guess from its protagonist's name, Grim Fandango is based in Latin America (well, the land of the dead, but it's a Latino land of the dead). And off the top of my head, I can't think of any other games that are based there, starring Latinos.

This Sunday at noon Eastern on RPGFan's Twitch channel, I'll be playing Grim Fandango Remastered — last year's re-release of this classic game. Join me, or check it out on the Twitch archives or our YouTube channel afterwards. It's worth seeing!

On a side note, as I recently mentioned on the forum thread about our Twitch streaming, we're considering moving this feature one hour later on Sundays. Please let us know if you have an opinion on the subject. We worry that we're asking folks in the West to get up too early on the weekend.
