The biggest element that ties exploration, combat, and the story together is the Reactor. This device is an all purpose tool that can analyze monster information, uncover hidden paths, and locate treasure chests.

The protagonist also can tame, fight with, and ride over 500 monsters in the game. These monsters can be used to travel faster, jump on unreachable platforms, fly to different parts of the area, and even swim underwater. This can be helpful in gaining advantage in combat or avoiding fights all together, as the encounters are visible in the environment.

Also, just throwing it out there... is this Android 17 with new hair? Look at his outfit! We're all thinking this, right? What if his secret past involves the Red Ribbon Army? Oh it's just me? HE'S USING A SCOUTER.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 will be released for the Nintendo 3DS on March 24 in Japan for 5,250 yen (about $43 USD or $40 EUR) via retail and download. Pre-order bonuses will also be available, depending upon the retailer it is purchased from. These equip-able rings provide different bonuses such as increased combat stats, EXP gain, drop rate increase, more effective Scout Attack, etc.
