Last week, Nintendo announced something many of us had lost hope in happening: A Western release of the 3DS remakes of both Dragon Quest VII and Dragon Quest VIII.

Originally released for the PlayStation (One!), Dragon Quest VII: Warriors of Eden on the 3DS will carry the new title of Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past when it makes its way out here.

Meanwhile, DQVIII (which debuted on PlayStation 2) retains its title of Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King, and was co-developed with LEVEL-5.

If you're curious to learn more about these PS-era DQ games, our original reviews are linked below (though keep in mind DQVII's presentation especially has seen a drastic overhaul on 3DS). Nintendo will be publishing both Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past and Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King sometime in 2016.
