Final Fantasy VII's Cloud Strife Coming to Super Smash Bros.
A new Meteor approaches!
11.12.15 - 11:42 PM

During the most recent Nintendo Direct, Nintendo did it's best to break the internet by unveiling Cloud Strife as the next playable character in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS. Check out the trailer below to see his move-set and the inevitable Omnislash final smash. The trailer also highlights a new Midgar stage. Cloud can use classic FFVII summons like Ifrit, Ramuh, Bahamut and more. He will be able to dress in his traditional SOLDIER outfit as well as his more modern Advent Children leathers. What if another alternate costume made you look like Zack!?

Cloud's presence on a Nintendo platform is particularly remarkable after Square snubbed Nintendo and decided to bring Final Fantasy VII to the Sony PlayStation instead of the Nintendo 64, changing the video game industry forever. Super Smash Bros. is now the perfect game for living out your Sonic, Kirby, Mega Man and Cloud fan-fiction.

A release date was not announced but more information will be revealed during a dedicated Smash Bros. broadcast sometime in December.
