The next Mystery Dungeon game could be on NX.

CEO of Spike Chunsoft, Mitsutoshi Sakurai, was recently interviewed by Famitsu magazine and he offered up juicy details about New Danganronpa V3, the opportunities in virtual reality, porting games and... The Witcher?

Okay, let's get the weird one out of the way first. The Witcher series is published by Spike Chunsoft in Japan.

Sakurai: "The Witcher 3 was a success. When The Witcher 2 came out, I wanted a PlayStation 3 version to be made and asked CD Projekt Red about it directly, but it wasn't possible. The Xbox 360 version eventually went into the red, but our persistence from that time led to The Witcher 3."

Danganronpa New Interview

Now, let's get into games that are actually developed by Spike Chunsoft. New Danganronpa V3 is the first game in the series to be on a traditional home console.

Sakurai: "...we're considering a number of interesting mechanics... For stationary consoles, we'll focus on PlayStation 4. After, Nintendo's new hardware, the NX. I would also like to start fully working on Steam."

Sakurai also briefly mentioned the possibility of a new Mystery Dungeon game if the team can think of something "interesting" to do with the series. When questioned about virtual reality, this is what the CEO had to say.

Sakurai: "We've considered various things, but since the state of the market still isn't in sight, we're not at a concrete level where we can say we'll have something at launch. Cyber Danganronpa VR can be good, so it'll be interesting if we can put something proper together."

To close out the interview, Mitsutoshi Sakurai teased a little bit of what's to come from Spike Chunsoft.

Sakurai: "We're not at the level where we can announce anything, but we've started work on the development of a completely new title. Additionally, we have the latest entry in the Zero Escape series, which Kotaro Uchikoshi is making. We're making various other advancements, too."

New Danganronpa V3 is being developed for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma will release on the PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS in the Summer of 2016.
