Like many Japanese auteur game developers, the father of the Fire Emblem series Shouzo Kaga is making an indie game that returns to the roots of what made him famous with Vestaria Saga. However, rather than turn to Kickstarter to drum up a multi-million dollar budget, Kaga-san is taking a different approach. He and a small team of team of acquaintances and professionals are using a game engine called SRPG Studio to make a game that looks a lot like classic Fire Emblem. Moreover, the game will be free to play when it is released.

In his blog, Kaga-san says that he is looking to expand his team by two or three people, and interested applicants can apply by commenting on his blog post. He is particularly looking to hire a character designer and is willing to pay. Applicants for that job must submit 100 characters faces at 96 x 96 px resolution.
