Adam Jensen may not have asked for this, but you sure did.

Square Enix had been teasing... something for the past few days, with a teaser website dubbed "Can't Kill Progress" going live and many- rightly- speculating that they were about to unveil the next installment of the Deus Ex franchise. Turns out that was exactly the case, and a follow-up to 2011's Human Revolution is indeed heading our way, entitled Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided once again stars Adam Jensen, biotech security chief-turned-augmented super spy, two years after the events of the previous game that caused citizens with augmentations to lose control of themselves, resulting in the deaths of millions. Thanks to the "Aug Incident," tensions are running high between those who have augmentations and those who do not, and during all of this there are mysterious forces gathering to further their own agenda. Jensen once again finds himself at a crossroads with these organizations, whose social and political machinations lead him inexorably towards a confrontation.

According to the head of Eidos Montreal, David Anfossi, “For 15 years, Deus Ex has been a point of conversation across the games industry and beyond, whether the topic is the franchise’s unique gameplay or topical narrative focused on advanced biotechnology and human augmentation. What began with Deus Ex: Human Revolution goes to a whole new level in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, diving even deeper into this discussion and, in turn, offering fans an all-encompassing experience, one which will challenge their skills as players and emphasize decision-making based on real world topics.” Building on this, Mankind Divided will take advantage of the advanced capabilities of Eidos' new Dawn Engine, for "unrivaled visual fidelity" and technical performance.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will be coming to PlayStation 4, XBox One, and PC. There is no release date at this time, but you can take a look at the game's (epic!) cinematic trailer below.
