03.30.15 - 3:13 PM

Visual novel publisher MangaGamer conduced a recent survey of their fans to find out more about their visual novel interests. The poll not only asked what kinds of visual novels they enjoyed the most, but also what visual novels are they most interested in seeing localized. The top 10 most requested visual novels are:

  1. Fate Stay Night
  2. Majikoi series
  3. Baldr series
  4. Muv-Luc series
  5. Umineko no Naku Koro Ni
  6. Shin Koihime Musou
  7. Rance series
  8. Flowers
  9. White Album 2
  10. Little Busters

Information on the demographics that took the survey were also released. 73% of the respondents were male, while 23.5% were female. Of all the respondents 86% were from the ages of 18-30, while 62.5% were between the ages of 18-24. In the ages of 13-17, 13% were female and only 3.8% were male. Ages of the respondents also correlated with how many visual novels were purchased. Those between 13-17 would only buy one title or less a year, while the 18-24 age range bought 2 or more. Those over 30 clocked in a whopping 6 titles or more a year.

The respondents also gave a bit of insight to the mind of visual novel players. Respondents noted that story and art were the two most important factors when choosing a visual novel. For men the not so surprising third factor in choosing a title was eroticism, and for women it was characters and sexuality options.
