At this year's Game Developer's Conference, it was announced that Knights of Pen & Paper 2 will be released on May 14th for iOS, Android, PC, Linux, and Mac.

In Knights of Pen & Paper 2, you take control of a group of high school friends playing a role-playing game in of the of the character's basements. Throughout the game, you'll have to do battle with dragons and bullies alike, while you travel to gym class and homeroom, as well as other more traditional dungeons. This time around, graphics have been updated from 8-bit to 16-bit. The game takes place during the 2000's, which is clear through different set pieces such as a Rock Band controller propped up in the room.

A game demo was revealed on an iPad and showed off the turn-based fighting style. Players can act as member of the party or the gamemaster him/herself. According to senior mobile producer Florian Schwarzer, the game was designed so that players could keep playing for an hour or more, or stop playing after a satisfying 15-mintue session and pick it up again later.

Knights of Pen & Paper 2 is being developed by Kyy Games and published by Paradox. Kyy games did not work on the first Knights of Pen & Paper, but they did create its expansion "Haunted Fall". In the words of Schwarzer, "This makes them more than qualified to make a Dungeons & Dragons spoof."
