Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward Pre-Order Info
Gotta love those bonus swag items. Plus some info on 2.55!
03.16.15 - 3:23 PM

In wake of the recent release date announcement for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn's expansion Heavensward, Square Enix released follow up information for those looking to pre-order.

Pre-orders for the expansion begin on March 16th for PC, PS4, PS3, and Mac, and there will 3 different packages available. One is packed with cool bonus items, another includes just the expansion, while the third suits anyone that wants the base game as well.

First up is the Collector's Edition, available in physical form for $129.99 US, or digitally for $59.99 US. Both versions come with in-game bonus items to entice fans of the series: a flying griffin mount, a Final Fantasy IV-themed Dark Knight Cecil helmet, a Wind-up Kain minion, and a free fantasia for those with an interest in changing their character to the new Au Ra race.

If you spend the extra money on the boxed Collector's Edition, then you'll also get 3 awesome physical bonus items all packaged in the "Dragonsong War" box: a dragon mount figure, a Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward art book, and a Blu-ray disc that includes a high-definition compilation of all the trailers released for the game. The physical Collector's Edition will only be available in a limited quantity, so those who want the extra physical goodies need to be quick to pre-order from the North American Square Enix online store starting at 11:00am (PDT), and from the European Square Enix Store starting at 7:00am (GMT) on March 16th.

For those not interested in any of the bonus items, you can also purchase the expansion by itself for $39.99 US. Or, if you don't yet have Final Fantasy XIV at all, you can purchase a bundle which includes the base game A Realm Reborn and the Heavensward expansion for $59.99 US.

Speaking of pre-orders, those that do (with any version) will also receive three additional items on top of early access from June 19th. These three items include a Final Fantasy IV-themed Baron Circlet and Earrings, along with a chocobo chick courier minion.

If the long wait for Heavensward is too much to bare, we also have new info on the 2.55 patch, which will be very last update for A Realm Reborn. 2.55 will release on March 31st and include the following:

  • The final story arc of 2.0.
  • The Final Coil of Bahamut added to the duty finder.
  • The World of Darkness weekly gear limit removed.
  • The amount of MGP you receive in the Gold Saucer will be adjusted.
  • Adjustments will also be made to the Triple Triad tournaments and NPCs.
