There will be blood! Because emotions!

In a recent interview, Director Hajime Tabata disclosed that there will be shocking moments and brutal scenes in Final Fantasy XV. After his work on Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, Tabata feels this level of detail is necessary to accurate express the emotions in a given scene.

While discussing Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, Tabata explained, "I learned that if I wanted to show some deep emotions and the internal struggle of a fight, I had to use this kind of gory expressions and these visceral things. And that links in a way to the first scene of Final Fantasy Type-0, which has really a similar kind of expression. So these things I learned were integrated into Final Fantasy Type-0." In turn, these lessons have directed the development of Final Fantasy XV.

But those faint of heart need not worry, the development team has discussed having a menu where players can adjust the amount of blood or even DLC that could potentially change the game's rating.

In other news, the demo Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae that is included with the first print copies of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD will be 5GB and will be coming to both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

There is no announced release date for Final Fantasy XV.
