Get your pawns ready!

Capcom just announced that Dragon's Dogma Online will be coming to Japan sometime in 2015. Much like the original title, players can customize their avatar and join AI-controlled pawns as they scour the countryside in search of adventure and treasure. Obviously, the new game will include online play, allowing you to engage in jolly cooperation with friends and newcomers alike. Details are still emerging on the title (thanks to translations from a Famitsu article), but you can expect large enemies to feature some type of rage meter similar to the Monster Hunter franchise. The game is also a free-to-play title, with items purchased through microtransactions.

Truth be told, I wasn't a big fan of the original Dragon's Dogma, but online play may help to create a more cohesive and unique experience. Dragon's Dogma Online is in development for PC, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. No word yet on a US release, but we'll keep you updated as we learn more!
