In today's Nintendo Direct, Nintendo revealed two brand new models of 3DS (literally called the New 3DS and New 3DS XL) that boast, among various features, improved CPU power. So far they've only been announced for Japan, but will undoubtedly be released internationally, too. Though, at this stage, Nintendo have stated that they won't be leaving Japan this year.

With that new technology on hand, they went on to announce that they will be releasing a port of Xenoblade Chronicles exclusively on new versions of the handheld. Which means, unfortunately, we'll all need to buy New 3DS consoles if we want to enjoy it on-the-go.

No release date for the title have been announced yet, nor have any details on what changes the port may feature in terms of controls, graphics or content. As you can see in the following screen though, it seems to be pretty faithful to the original!

In related news, Shulk has also joined the roster for the new Super Smash Bros. titles.
