Nintendo have released a batch of new screenshots for Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, with a focus on the two legendary Pokémon Groudon and Kyogre. More specifically, we have new details on their "Primal Reversions."

Primal Reversion seems to differ from Mega Evolution only by name, but is exclusively applied to Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon. These new forms for the legendary Pokémon are supposedly "reversions" to a time when they held even greater power and fought against each other. In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, a brand new cave painting depicts this story.

In terms of mechanics, both legendaries will see significant stat improvements as they undergo Reversion/Evolution.

Primal Groudon gains Fire-typing (to become Ground/Fire) and its Attack will be boosted. On the official site, Nintendo tease that "it appears that its Ability might get a boost!" Groudon's current ability is Drought, which summons sunlight on the battlefield for five turns (prior to Generation VI, it lasted the whole battle).

Also, a little bit of trivia: Groudon is the heaviest Pokémon, weighing in at 2,094.4 lbs (~950 kgs). Primal Groudon is larger again and weighs 2,204.4 lbs (~999 kgs)!

Unlike Primal Groudon, Primal Kyogre does not gain a new type upon Reversion. Its Special Attack will be increased though and, like Primal Groudon, an improved version of its ability is promised (its current ability, Drizzle, summons rain). Its physical size also increases, and you can see a comparison here.

Finally, check out our updated gallery for a number of other new screenshots!

Both titles will be released worldwide on November 21st, except in Europe, where they will be released one week later on the 28th.
