Get ready for Genroku Legends and cat ladies.

Aksys Games yesterday announced plans to release Muramasa Rebirth's DLC in North America and Europe. Starting early next year, the Vita remake will see key pieces of downloadable content. Genroku Legends contains four new tales all based on Japanese folklore, as well as four different characters - including Okoi and Gonbe - each with their own style.

In Fishy Tales of the Nekomata, the first of these four stories, Okoi and her brother have a simple task, or so they thought: travel to Edo to deliver a rather valuable tea set to the shogun. Only their family's chief retainer wants the set for himself, and so the task becomes less than simple. The DLC introduces new enemies and bosses, and abilities for Okoi, who fights with her claws. After completing Fishy Tales of the Nekomata, players can then fight as Okoi against any of the bosses from Muramasa Rebirth's main storyline.

What can I say? Japan is serious about its tea. This first DLC will release in early 2014.
