Let the hate flow through you.

Sorry. Had to squeeze that Star Wars reference in there. The visual novel Hate Plus is coming to a PC/Mac near you later this month. Despite the popularity and high acclaim of the previous title in the series, Analogue: A Hate Story, it's safe to assume that probably not many people know about this title due to its indie roots and niche genre. It's no secret that visual novels lack a solid market here in the West. Even with the surprise success of such titles as the outstanding Zero Escape series, visual novels remain mostly out of the spotlight.

However, creator of Hate Plus, Christine Love, hopes to change all that with her newest effort. A sequel to her previous game, Analogue: A Hate Story, Love describes the upcoming Hate Plus as "A dark visual novel about transhumanism, cosplay, cake-baking, and the slow patriarchal erosion of freedoms taken for granted." Because Hate Plus is a sequel, it's probably recommended that you catch up with it's predecessor, Analogue: A Hate Story, which is available at ahatestory.com for PC/Mac/Linux users via Steam or direct download for just $10. Returning players can even carry over their save file from Analogue: A Hate Story into Hate Plus. Sounds interesting, right?

Check out the trailer and be sure to look out for Hate Plus when it releases on August 19, 2013 for $10 on PC/MAC/Linux.
