Dragon Quest Monsters 2 is Being Remade for the 3DS

Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Iru and Luca’s Marvelous Mysterious Key is going to be remade for the Nintendo 3DS. This has been speculated upon since April, when a trademark was uncovered, but it’s now official.

A teaser site has opened (see below!), detailing that it will be developed in-house and Dragon Quest veterans Yuji Horii (general director), Akira Toriyama (monster designer), and Kouichi Sugiyama are all involved. More details include having an eight person multiplayer mode, over 800 monsters from Dragon Quest X, and up to four-on-four battles.

No details about a release, either in Japan or elsewhere, have been revealed.
