NIS America Announces Demon Gaze, DanganRonpa For The West
Because today is a day for announcements, clearly.

Today might have made several JRPG fans happy about owning a PlayStation Vita, as NIS America announced two new titles for localization on Sony's handheld. One of them is DanganRonpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, a visual novel that follows the story of a high school student who gets accepted into what seems to be a rather prestigious academy, but when he arrives, he and the other 'chosen' students have been taken prisoner by a strange little bear named Monokuma. The students eventually turn to murdering each other while trying to find out who Monokuma really is.

Sound vaguely familiar? Then you won't be surprised to find out that DanganRonpa was developed by Spike Chunsoft, the same minds behind Zero Escape: Nine Hours Nine Persons Nine Doors and its sequel, Virtue's Last Reward. DanganRonpa, however, is less about nonary games and more investigations, 'trials,' and using others' words against them if not trying to persuade them to your side altogether.

The second title is Demon Gaze. Developed by Experience Inc. (Students of the Round), this 3D dungeon crawler follows Oz, who - shocker - cannot remember some details of his past, and so he goes out hunting for artifacts and treasure. This one is all about dungeon exploration, and boasts customizable characters and parties with lots of portraits and several races and classes to choose from. Even so, you'll be able to learn skills of classes other than your own via certain items.

Both of these Vita titles are set to release in North America and Europe in early 2014. Be sure to check back next week for new media!
