The Shadow Sun for iOS is Still Alive, Coming This Summer
Check out the first update and screen shots since 2010! (really)
06.06.13 - 2:19 AM

It's been a long time since we last talked about The Shadow Sun. In fact, our last news story on the title was way back in late 2010, and at the time, the game was planned to release in late 2010. I happened to write that story, and felt that the game looked early, but showed promise. Looking back on those screen shots now shows how far iOS gaming (and mobile in general) has come in just a couple years.

Thankfully, Ossian Studios is still around and has got The Shadow Sun back on track. They've released a new batch of screens, which you can see in our revamped gallery, and there's a massive leap in the quality of the visuals since we last checked in.

Finally, Ossian has updated the game's official site with new details. Of particular note, The Shadow Sun is meant to last between 10-15 hours, allows you to create your own male or female character, and even features WRPG trademarks such as dialogue that affects your relationships (yes, romantic ones included) with other characters. Because we all like numbers, TSS has 30 skills to learn and level up, 70+ areas in which to explore, and over 200 unique items.

The Shadow Sun features Game Center support (presumably for achievements), and will - bless you, Ossian - be a Universal app that will support iPhone 3GS and up, iPod touch (3rd generation+), and all iPad models. Yes, even your 2010 original! On those devices with Retina Displays, the game will take full advantage of those imperceptible pixels.

The Shadow Sun launches, for realsies, later this summer.
