Yet More Shin Megami Tensei IV Videos
Covering a nice variety of topics. Almost all of them demons.

While Atlus USA just today opened Shin Megami Tensei IV's official English website, the Japanese site has been open for a while, and has had all kinds of short clips on various features from the game. The most recent center around the Digital Devil Service Cards, which are traded between players by way of StreetPass. These will show your protagonist's stats, a demon of your choosing, and a generic note. You can possibly do special fusions once you've received other's DDS cards.

Like Nocturne before it, the protagonist can use the spells that demons do. Only he doesn't ingest Magatama to do it - he learns them through the whisper system. The demons, of course, do the whispering and then you choose what skill of theirs you want.

Next, you've probably figured out that the main character uses a device not unlike the COMP in Soul Hackers. Residing in the 'Gauntlet' is an AI named Burroughs, who will warn you of enemies approaching and keep track of your quests, their detail and their rewards. Aside from main missions, there are apparently 100 challenge quests, which tie into sidestories.

Finally, these are from last week, but Atlus is trying to make demon fusion easier in SMTIV. The demon compendium will have more info, allowing you to search up demons by the skills you want and the game will show you which fusions will create them. You can even choose what skills you want to carry over from the monsters being fused. If you're less picky, you can always go by the game's own fusion recommendations.

Shin Megami Tensei IV for Nintendo 3DS releases in Japan this month and July 16th in North America.
