Snail Games announced today that its MMORPG Age of Wushu is now available to play. The free-to-play PC title, taking place in China's Ming Dynasty era, lets players master martial arts of their choosing, all while exploring the ancient country, its cities and various landmarks of the time.

Unlike traditional MMOs, Age of Wushu had done away with levelling and jobs, although they will choose from one of eight different schools, each featuring a different fighting discipline. There will also be open PvP -when you are offline your character becomes an NPC, still gaining you EXP and cultivation points, but also at the risk of being kidnapped.

If you're willing to wait and spend a few bucks however, a retail edition will be available at some outlets, GameStop included. The $19.99 bundle includes $80+ of in-game items and bonuses, including two months of VIP access, $10 of in-game money, and a special outfit and mount. As well, you'll get access to a single-player area called the Twilight Village Adventure where you can train with actor Jet Li (who's apparently an ex-bandit in the game), gaining abilities as well as cultivation points in the process.
