This one's surprising, based on all of the licensing involved.

I'll be honest, I'd pegged the Namco Bandai/Sega/Capcom crossover project Project X Zone dead in the water for localization, considering all of the sticky licensing situations. 3DS owners will be happy to know that the 3DS Strategy-RPG/Fighter hybrid will be released in Summer 2013. The title features characters from some very popular series, including Tales of..., .hack, Xenosaga, and Street Fighter, amongst many others.

While IGN's initial post was a bit light on details, tweets from both the official Namco Bandai UK account and Namco Bandai USA community manager Rich Bantegui corroborate the post.

Thanks to reader @MrRandom28 via Twitter for letting us know about the official EU announcement tweet.

Update (12:55PM): Namco Bandai Games America has sent out an official press release confirming the announcement. Included was also the following quote from Marketing VP Carlson Choi: "Project X Zone is the first title to ever combine such a large cast of characters from a varied list of game franchises into one grand adventure. Developing a cohesive game and storyline to encompass all of these great characters and their battle-styles was a huge challenge that has paid off greatly with the creation of a truly unique and groundbreaking gaming experience."
