December saw the release of a variety of ports, remakes, and boxed debuts of previously downloadable titles, but none of these took the prize. New releases take precedence, and there was at least one RPG good enough for the Game of the Month award.

Note that although The Walking Dead saw its full season release this month, we consider an episodic game eligible for this award only during the month that its final episode is released.
