XSEED Games has announced that they will be localizing the GameArts/GungHo Vita Action RPG Ragnarok Odyssey for release sometime in 2012. Set in the same universe as popular MMORPG Ragnarok Online, the title was released in Japan in February of this year. It features quite a bit of melee combat in a world based on Norse mythology where humans and giants battle each other after the death of the ancient gods.

"Ragnarok Odyssey is an amazing game that players have recognized through its position as one of the best-selling PSVita titles in Japan," said Ken Berry, Executive Vice President of XSEED Games. "To be able to offer this game, which has been the most requested title by our fans for some time now, is very rewarding and speaks to the level of quality we are committed to delivering to the players."

The game also features six job classes for fully customizable characters and supports both local and online play for up to four players. We'll have more information on Ragnarok Odyssey as it becomes available.
