The Witcher Now Available For Mac On Steam
At a whopping $10.

Polish developer CD Projekt RED had a few announcements to make this morning as they promised via a streamed conference. The main piece of news was the Mac version of the first The Witcher, which is now available on Steam. Not only is it a mere $9.99 US (€7.99 /£6.99/ $9.99 AU) for the Enhanced Edition Director's Cut, but if you already own a PC version, the Mac version is downloadable for free. You can buy, download and/or read up on the requirements for both platforms here on the game's Steam page. (Sadly, my computer met all the requirements except for VRAM...)

Fans of the series who own an iOS device may also be interested in a motion comic, available on April 17th, same day as The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition's release. The comic, created with the iPad in mind but can still be viewable on iPhone, centers around Geralt fighting a werecat, and uses interactive elements, sound, music and motion graphics. Pricing was not announced.

As usual, extra content will be free to owners of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings - and this includes the Enhanced Edition content. If you own the game, you can pre-download the Enhanced Edition content starting April 11th (next Thursday). And if you already own the game, you'll also get a free digital backup copy on GOG.com, for which you can find some details here. New PC players and Xbox 360 owners can pick up the full The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition on April 17th.
