02.21.12 - 7:56 PM

Atlus had promised a while ago that a new Etrian Odyssey title was in the works for the Nintendo 3DS. Sure enough, Etrian Odyssey IV is being revealed in this week's Famitsu. Titled Sekaiju no Meikyuu IV: Densetsu no Kyojin (Etrian Odyssey IV: The Legend of the Giant God) in Japan, the game will add a casual mode in order to appeal to newcomers, and allow players to switch up the difficulty any time during the game. Seven classes are revealed in the magazine, including swordsman, medic, dancer, nightseeker, rune master, and sniper.

Etrian Odyssey IV's director is listed as Daisuke Kanada, background artist as Nizou Yamamoto, monster designer Shin Nagasawa, character designer Yuji Humukai, and Yuzo Koshiro working on sound. The title will be fully revealed here later this week, but already has a Japanese release date of July 5th and a price tag of 6279 yen ($78.67 US).
