Fire Emblem 3DS To Hit Japan Next April
And with it comes the system's first paid DLC!

Back in September, one of many revealed Nintendo 3DS titles was a new Fire Emblem game, the latest in Intelligent Systems' long-running strategy RPG series that dates back to the Famicom days. At today's Nintendo Direct press conference, the game was officially titled Fire Emblem: Kakusei (Fire Emblem: Awakening) and given an April 19th release date in Japan. But that's not all - it will also apparently be the first 3DS game with paid downloadable content, according to Nikkei. However, although their report said paid DLC would kick off in March, the game still got an April date.

There is no word yet on an overseas release, though chances may be slim, as Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon's sequel - also known as the DS remake of Monshou no Nazo (Mystery of the Emblem) - didn't even make it out to North America.
