New Little King's Story To Be Told In Europe
But will the tale ever get any more western?

Two years ago, XSEED Games localized a Wii RPG titled Little King's Story. It wasn't the biggest seller, but still, it was a cute, simple but loved SRPG developed by Cing. This summer, a PlayStation Vita sequel was announced with updated, more realistic visuals - and a few romantic elements too. And Konami, who is publishing New Little King's Story in Japan, has good news for Europe too: The region will also see the game sometime next year.

You still play as the now-fourteen-year-old King Corobo in New Little King's Story, in command of an army which is going up against huge monsters known as The Nightmare. The game will have seven areas, each with a boss fight to look forward to at the end, so you'll be issuing orders to your units on whether to attack, draw back and so on. Via touchscreen you can recruit warriors, advisors, lumberjacks to cut down trees, carpenters to build bridges, and even princesses like Corina, who is an android, and Kokomo, an idol, for support roles. You'll also see the game change from day to night and changes to your land. Use these factors to your advantage when you head into battle.

To see how New Little King's Story looks so far, have a look at the Tokyo Game Show trailer and a (so far) very small gallery below. Neither the Japanese nor European version of the Marvelous AQL-developed title have a release window other than '2012.' A North American release has not yet been announced.
