Namco Bandai Dissolves Tales Studio
But this doesn't mean Tales will disappear.
11.21.11 - 11:58 PM

Namco Bandai announced yesterday that as of January 1st, it will absorb its (wholly-owned) Tales subsidiary, the aptly-named Tales Studio. Pending its board members' approval on November 29th, the studio will be dissolved before it becomes a part of its parent company. Despite the terms here, this doesn't mean in any way whatsoever that the studio, founded in 2003 and with over 100 employees today, is closing - just that it will no longer be a public company. In all likelihood, Tales Studio will continue to operate as it does now, focusing on Tales games (two of which will release in Japan next year) and related projects - just as an internal team to Namco Bandai.
