NIS America Announces Localization Of Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland
Hooray!
11.16.11 - 8:13 PM

After the success of Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland in the west, it's little surprise that NIS America have announced that they will be bringing its sequel, and the final game in the Arland trilogy, Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland for PS3, to North America and Europe in the Spring of 2012.

The story follows a princess named Meruru who is introduced to alchemy by the famous Totori Helmold. Under Totori's tutelage, Meruru starts out on her own adventure to try and improve her country, the Kingdom of Arls, using the power of alchemy. During her journey, Meruru will discover adventures, obstacles, mysteries, and friends, and discover what life is like outside the castle walls.

Atelier Meruru builds on the game mechanics and ideas of the previous two games, but also includes some brand new concepts. For the first time you will actually be able to develop new areas and facilities around Arls to gain access to new resources and new areas. Not only that, but the new developments you make will affect how the world looks aesthetically and determine how the story plays out. The battle system introduces a new Time Card system that is promised to make fights more thoughtful and strategic.

And, of course, many characters from the previous two games will be returing, including Rorona and Totori. We'll let you know as soon as NISA announces a solid release date.
