Today, JAST USA officially released their localisation of Japanese PC RPG Aselia the Eternal. Originally released in Japan back in 2003, this localisation will give players the chance to experience a RPG/visual novel in English. President of JAST USA, Peter Payne, explained why they wanted to bring Aselia to the Western market: "Japanese PC RPGs are an underrepresented genre in the West, and we hope that this new title will enable a large number of new fans to find out what they've been missing."

The game follows the story of Takamine Yuuto, a young man who, along with his sister, is transported to a fantasy world called Phantasmagoria. Due to his inability to understand the foreign language spoke, along with an unusual series of events, Yuuto is forced against his will to use a special sentient sword and fight for a greedy king alongside female warriors known as Spirits. Decisions you make throughout the game can lead to a number of different endings and will bring you closer to one of the game's heroines.

Visual novel aspects aside, this is still a true RPG. You can form a party made up of Spirits and Etrangers and teach them different skills to use in battle. The game features 23 tactical missions, 9 unique endings, 3 difficulty levels to choose from, and is an 'all-ages' release. Aselia the Eternal can be bought from the official website which you can find here for $29.95 US.

You can expect a review for the game soon, so keep checking back!
