Story details, new race information, and the ability to build your own house!

Square Enix's online Wii and Wii U RPG Dragon Quest X appears to be shaping up quite impressively. Basic information about the game was revealed throughout TGS including a trailer or two. In the last few days a treasure trove of specifics have been revealed and a few questions have been answered.

Perhaps the biggest of these revelations is that you'll be able to build your own house in-game. Players will be able to construct a home in Astordia, one of the game's towns, in a residential block. You will be able to customise your own house, but it has not yet been revealed exactly how this will work or how much freedom you will have to design. In this town you'll also be able to restore your health at the inn, do some dealing by selling your wares, improve your equipment at a blacksmith, and get information about current events from a concierge! It's also likely that postboxes will be used to send mail and items to other players.

Another aspect sure to please fans is that Dragon Quest X has been confirmed to have a detailed plot. Your character will start off living in a small village with their little sister or brother--all of whom can have their appearances customised. To begin with, all playable characters are human, but something early on in the story will force them to change into one of the other five races. There will be a final boss too, something relatively uncommon for MMORPGs. Luckily, there will be plenty of other post-game content to be found in a world many times larger than that of Dragon Quest VIII's.

Finally, the game will auto-save throughout your adventure, but players can choose to go to a chapel to save if they wish - something no Dragon Quest adventure would be complete without!
