Looks like the PSP continues to get some love in North America.

Vanillaware should be a familiar name to our readers - they created the gorgeous Odin Sphere and Muramasa: The Demon Blade, as well as the upcoming release of Dragon's Crown. They'd also announced a turn-based PSP RPG called Grand Knights History, one that I was skeptical would see North American release. I was happy to see that this morning, XSEED Games proved me wrong, announcing the game would see release for the PlayStation Portable this winter, both digitally and with a UMD release.

"XSEED Games is excited to be bringing Grand Knights History to the North American audience," said Jun Iwasaki, President of XSEED Games. "Vanillaware is renowned for their beautiful and striking hand-drawn 2D graphics, and with its stunning visuals and strategic gameplay, Grand Knights History will be a must-have for all PSP owners with a taste for deep, engrossing RPGs."

The game follows the continent of Listia, inundated with combat as three nations struggle for control of land and resources. The nations of Union, Avalon, and Logres all battle for control, and it's up to you to align yourself with one of these countries and recruit your army. Grand Knights History features a strategy-oriented battle system, with amazing amounts of customization on the characters, so your team of knights will be unique. There's also online functionality so that you can take your knights and battle your friends.

Our European friends shouldn't feel left out, either - XSEED's press release noted that Rising Star Games would be publishing the title in Europe. Keep your eyes peeled to RPGFan for more information and assets on Grand Knights History for PSP.
